plastic sole and heel attempt

I have now created a size 4 sole and heel template in order to practice working with the shape of a foot. I have managed to secure myself a model for my final photoshoot, therefore I have got to use her shoe size to work from, hence the size 4 test.

paper cut out of size 4 foot, with added heel
cut out in plastic using the band saw

the files I used

the vice, it helps if you only file the area that is held by the vice, as otherwise it moves and creates an uneven surface

strip heater on full

clamp it to hold it still

bend it when it is ready, otherise it will snap

hold it still until the plastic is set again

I am really pleased with my test as this was my first attempt at using a strip heater. I managed to acheive the shape exactly, but the heel is a little bit too far out, I bent it at the wrong point. I also really love the way the plastic has come out, I used metal files, then wet and dry paper (grades 120, 400, 600 and 1200).
