The 1920s fashion that I have observed, has incorporated a lot of lace, and also a lot of embroidered floral designs. I would love to incorporate this in my final design, as it is an aspect of fashion which I find admirable, the time spent, and the care taken making it is overwhelming, not to mention that I want this particular design to stand out against my previous macho work!
However, still wanting to use metal, not textile techniques, I have used a fine metal roller to sandwich a strip of lace-like material between 2 pieces of copper, to emboss the effect onto the metal. Next time I will use a thicker lace, and thinner copper to make the effect stand out more.
The metal has to be annealed before rolling.
